California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) Privacy Notice

This California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) Privacy Notice supplements the information in our Privacy Policy and applies solely to visitors, users, and others who reside in the State of California ("consumers" or "you"). We adopt this notice to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (CPRA), and any terms defined in those laws have the same meaning when used in this notice.
1. Information We Collect
OtterDocs collects information that identifies, relates to, describes, references, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer, household, or device ("personal information"). In the past twelve (12) months, OtterDocs has collected the following categories of personal information:

We obtain the categories of personal information listed above from the following categories of sources:
- Directly from you — when you register, subscribe to a plan, or contact us
- Indirectly from you — through your use of our website and API platform
- Third-party service providers — such as analytics and payment processors
2. How We Use Personal Information
We may use or disclose the personal information we collect for one or more of the following business purposes:
- To provide, operate, and maintain our document notification platform and related services
- To process transactions and send billing-related communications
- To respond to inquiries and provide customer support
- To send service notifications, updates, and account-related communications
- To monitor and analyze usage trends to improve our platform

3. Sharing Personal Information
OtterDocs does not sell or share your personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. In the past twelve (12) months, we have not sold personal information.

- Service providers — companies that assist us with hosting, payment processing, analytics, and customer support, under written contracts requiring them to protect the information
- Law enforcement or government agencies — when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of OtterDocs or others
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice provided to you
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
4. Your Rights as a California Resident
If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA provides you with the following rights regarding your personal information:
Right to Know
You have the right to request that we disclose to you: the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you; the categories of sources from which we collected it; the business or commercial purpose for collecting it; and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
Right to Delete
You have the right to request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions permitted by law (such as completing a transaction, detecting security incidents, or complying with a legal obligation).
Right to Correct
You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information that we maintain about you.
Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing
You have the right to direct us not to sell or share your personal information. As noted above, OtterDocs does not sell personal information. If this practice ever changes, we will update this notice and provide a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link on our homepage.
Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information
You have the right to limit our use and disclosure of sensitive personal information to only what is necessary to perform the services you requested or as otherwise permitted by the CPRA.
Right to Non-Discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA/CPRA rights. We will not deny you goods or services, charge you different prices, provide you a different level of quality, or suggest that you may receive a different price or quality of goods or services.
5. How to Exercise Your Rights
To submit a request to know, delete, or correct your personal information, or to limit use of sensitive personal information, you may contact us using any of the following methods:

We will need to verify your identity before processing your request. Verification typically requires confirming the email address associated with your account. We will respond to a verifiable consumer request within 45 days of receipt. If we require more time, we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing.
You may designate an authorized agent to make a request under the CCPA on your behalf. We may require the authorized agent to provide written permission from you and may verify your identity directly.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this notice and our Privacy Policy, including to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When personal information is no longer needed, we will delete or anonymize it.
